Freestyle Clinics

Marie’s goal is to raise the standards of freestyles in the sport as a whole. She wants to help people to be able to make their own or produce one at the highest level to create an internationally competitive freestyle. She is happy to share her knowledge and walk you through the process of making your own freestyle or Marie can take the reins and just gather the info she needs to create a masterpiece for you. A little mix of both is possible too.

One-On-One Sessions

Unmounted sessions- 1st-3rd level $100/ 4th-PSG $150/ Grand Prix $200

  • Marie will guide you through the steps to create an individualized pattern, find your horses ideal tempos based on videos, discuss budget, and find songs. In order to complete some of these steps, you must bring a video with you of your horse, in gaits required at your level. Video should be of a test with a qualifying score or in a frame and tempo you would hope to achieve a qualifying score in.

Mounted sessions- 1st-3rd level $100/4th- PSG $150/ Grand Prix $200

  • Mounted sessions are only for steps 1c, 2a,b,c (if video not available), 5b or 5e.

Combo sessions- (45 min unmounted/ plus 30 minute mounted session) - add $50 to rates above.

  • Combo sessions are primarily for a “Jump Start” to your freestyle process. This is for a horse and rider combo that needs a pattern, and/or needs help determining their strengths/weaknesses. Once that is determined and the pattern is made, a short break will enable the rider to prepare and warm up their horse. Then the mounted part of the session will begin to pull together and video the pattern as possible. Tempo mapping can also be done at this time.

  • At the end of your Combo session, you can expect to have an appropriate, creative, competitive pattern, video and tempo map. Music choice guidance is not included in mounted sessions.

  • Mounted sessions not recommended for Grand Prix freestyles, except for step 5b.

Group Sessions

General talks about the process are always fun and can accompany the one-on-one sessions, and be a great way to start the day of one-on-one sessions or be a great lunch break. A group session is formatted as a 30 minute talk following with a 30 minute question and answer session. A great introductory course for future freestyle riders to gain knowledge of what the process will entail.
